Perodua is set to launch its first fully in-house electric vehicle (EV) in Q4 2025, targeting young professionals and small families with a starting price of under RM80,000. The company’s innovative Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model allows buyers to lease the battery for about RM200 monthly, significantly lowering upfront costs and alleviating concerns about battery degradation. Locally engineered and produced, this EV is poised to strengthen Malaysia’s automotive ecosystem and make electric mobility more accessible to the masses.
